Hi group.

I have just finished functional testing of a breadboard version of my
version 2 Mem8Plus board and was finally able to get some measurements of
power supply current: The currents were measured with the computer running
a monitor program, so they are typical. LED current is 0.70 Amps, and Logic
current is 1.30 Amps. The board has 11 TIL311 displays and 13 discrete
LEDs, along with 12 GALs, one EPROM, two RAM chips and 50 LSTTL chips
(mostly bus buffers/drivers!). The previous version used two LM340T-5
regulators, one for the logic and one for the LEDs, but I think these will
be inadequate now, at least for the logic. So I'm thinking of using the
Pololu 5 V, 2.5A regulator that others are incorporating, or the LM323K
(TO-3) with heatsink for the logic. Does anyone have KiCAD footprints for
these two parts they would share? Or will I find them in the standard
libraries? I am getting ready to upgrade my KiCAD version to the latest
prior to updating the Mem8Plus V2 schematics, so I can utilize all the
newest features.
